26 05 21 Lateral Flow Testing kits

26th May 2021

Dear parents and carers,

Thank you for your ongoing support in helping us to keep Vale School as safe as possible and reduce further cases of Covid-19 in the community.

As things start to open up beyond school we are continuing to keep our precautions in school – hands, face, space and fresh air. Staff are also continuing to carry out lateral flow tests twice a week at home – whilst this is voluntary a large number of staff continue to do this so that we can help to avoid anyone who may have Covid with no symptoms coming into school.

With half term and everyone potentially extending their contacts over the week, we are asking for your help with this too – you will have recevied a copy of this letter and a testing kit with instruction for any ADULTS in your household to take, this is for anyone with no symptoms. They are not for use with children but if you test negative, then it is likely that they will be too.

We would be grateful if you could test anyone in your household over the age of 18, on Sunday 6th June, before school starts again on Monday 7th June. Then if possible, twice weekly as suggested by the government.

As always, please let us know if anyone tests positive with this test kit and follow the instructions below*

Thank you for your help in keeping everyone safe.

Best wishes,

Sarah McLay

Headteacher

*If you do test positive using the testing kit, please book a PCR test online immediately using this link: https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test. Those testing positive will need a PCR test to confirm the result. The whole household must go into self-isolation until the test result of the PCR is known. If the PCR test is negative, then everyone can stop isolating.
