04/11/2020 School update

Dear parents and carers,

It is lovely to welcome everyone back after the half term break, and we hope children, families and staff have had a restful break. Thank you for your continued support as we implement the advice from the Government and Public Health England. With the recent changes announced for Thursday, we will do all we can to ensure school remains open for children during the lockdown. We will also continue to offer remote learning if children are self-isolating or not able to attend school and thank you for supporting your children to access this when it is necessary.

I am in discussion with staff regularly on how our precautions and procedures are working and how we manage staff absences and possible cases. We will do our very best to minimise disruption, but must follow guidelines and ensure safety at school.

Due to the positive cases of Covid-19 at our secondary department before half term, we carried out a deep clean. Thank you to staff and children for self-isolating where you were asked to do so, including when we closed the department early for half term. This has really helped to keep everyone as safe as possible.

In addition to all the existing precautions, we are implementing on both main sites, the tier 2 advice, of adults wearing face coverings on entry, in corridors and shared spaces.

We are all aware that as the winter approaches that your children may have colds, sneezes and coughs and if you are worried or unsure about what you should do, please do contact us to discuss the best option regarding attendance.

As before, please ensure that if your child or anyone in your household has Covid-19 symptoms, that you self-isolate, get a test and inform us straight away. This will help to minimise any further cases at school.

Governors are kept up to date on our arrangements and how we are ensuring that our children are safe and ready to learn. Minakshi, our parent partnership governor, is planning on holding another zoom meeting for parents so you have an opportunity to share ideas and support each other.

If you have any questions or concerns, do please contact us.

With best wishes,

Sarah McLay
