Governors wish to appoint an excellent primary or secondary special school practitioner with expertise in SLD, PMLD or ASC. Applications from main stream practitioners with relevant experience will also be considered. The school has a primary and secondary site and the final classroom placement will be determined by experience and candidate preference.
Vale School is a unique all age community special school in Haringey, North London. We offer a high quality, child-centred, inclusive and specialist education for pupils with a wide range of special educational needs including physical disabilities, medical conditions, learning difficulties, communication difficulties and emotional and behavioural needs. The school is located in purpose-built accommodation attached to primary and secondary schools. This allows for inclusion opportunities with our mainstream partner schools.
You will have:-
· A positive attitude towards and ability to engage with children who have a range of disabilities.
· Experience of successfully teaching children with a range of special education needs.
· Ability to use formative assessment to plan and deliver effective teaching and learning.
· Ability to lead, organise and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
· High expectations of all pupils and an ability to reflect this through your planning and target setting.
· Ability to plan and deliver an engaging and exciting curriculum tailored to pupil needs.
